On a beautiful day in July, in front of family and friends, Laura & Kevin vowed to love each other forever. It was beautiful! I could not have been more excited to be a part of their celebration and I was welcomed with open arms! Laura was beautiful, Kevin was handsome, the colors were vibrant and the weather was amazing!
I loved the colors Laura chose for her flowers! You’ll see more later. They really complimented the decor and the girls dresses.
Laura was all smiles as she prepared for her day!
Seeing Dad for the first time! Always a special moment!
As always, Hotel Roanoke was the perfect place for photos. I love shooting there, it’s always so classic!

After family photos, everyone made their way to duPont Chapel at Hollins University where the ceremony was taking place. The sky was the perfect shade of blue!

The view from the balcony! The chapel is beautiful!
Really fun wedding party! They were up for almost anything!!!
Personal favorite!
Laura & Kevin are beautiful together.
The light was perfection. With perfect light, you can create perfect pictures. I’d call these perfect!
If this were me, it would be a big canvas over my bed. I love it that much!
This needs to be in a wedding magazine somewhere.
I love the way he looks at her.
Back at Hotel Roanoke, the guests were ready to get the party started!
First dance… I just love this photo!!! So dreamy and romantic!

One of my very favorite ring shots ever!!!
Laura & Kevin, thank you so much for trusting me to capture the emotion of your wedding day! I had a wonderful time and I know you both will be blessed in your new life together!
I am in love with these photos and with this couple! Megan & Ben had the most amazing wedding and a super fun reception! Just the right amount of vintage touches, elegance, and relaxed fun.
Shoes!!!
Megan picked up all her jewelry, her dress, and her bridesmaids dresses at JCrew. It all came together perfectly!
I love this photo!
This cracks me up! The girls asked Megan if there was anything she needed to touch up just before the ceremony – make-up, lipgloss, perfume? Her answer – deodorant! Don’t hate me for posting this Megan!
Megan’s Dad waiting to give away his only daughter.
Emotions of the moment were written all over their faces. Priceless.
The music of the ceremony was so beautiful. Timeless and classic.
I’m not sure what he was saying, but it took him a while to hand Megan over to Ben!
They had a choir sing during the ceremony. A CHOIR! All of the singers are friends of Megan & Ben and they were joined by Megan’s Dad. I have no words to explain how beautiful it was.
So excited to be married!
A kiss from Dad.
Can I just say how cool a reception at the Transportation Museum is?! Amazing places to shoot, beautiful light, and a fun wedding party! So much fun!
First Dance + perfect light = Amazing!
Marvin & Kay (on the left) celebrated their anniversary the week before. Don & Angela (on the right) were celebrating their anniversary that day! 45 Years for each couple!
Megan & Ben dedicated a song to each of them! That’s something well worth celebrating!
Because the light was so amazing, we snuck off for some photos around the trains! When you plan even a small amount of time for the purpose of bride/groom portraits, you get incredible results!
One of my favorites! Megan you are gorgeous!
Megan’s family has a long history of railroad work. Thus the choice of reception museum. Everybody now…ahhhhh! Megan’s Mom put together an incredibly detailed display of photos and details of all the workers. It was so neat to read all the names and their duties and time spent working the rails!
Say hello to the bling!
Then it was party time!!! And let me tell you, these people knew how to PARTY!
Ride that train!!!
Just one from the awesome *perfectly* choreographed dance routine that Ben and his buddies performed!
Thanks guys for allowing me to spend the day with you and your family! I felt blessed to be a part of your beautiful wedding!

I love it when I feel more like a guest at a wedding than the photographer! When I arrived at Emily & James’ home, I was welcomed with open arms. Family members were buzzing around taking care of last minute preparations, the flowers and cake were being delivered. Everyone was so happy and excited and I couldn’t wait to capture the energy and the emotion! Emily & James, you blessed me by allowing me to be a part of your small, beautiful celebration. I know that your new life together will be wonderful, and happy, and simply amazing. Thank you.
Emily loves details, so I tried to include lots in this post!!! I hope you like them Emily!
James’ gift to her was a beautiful pair of pearl earrings. She just had to decide which necklace to wear with them!
Simple yet stunning. Just like Emily.
Emily & James opted for a first look! It was so special even I had a hard time holding it together!
Dear Emily…you are beautiful… love Lori.
Makes me want to go snuggle!
Her flowers were simply stunning. And they smelled amazing!
I adore this ring shot!!!!
This part of the ceremony was so very symbolic. The mixing of blue and yellow to make green. The joining of two lives as one. I really liked the visual.
Emily & her brother had lots of laughs looking at the photo wall. Lots of memories were displayed here!
The gorgeous cake!!! It was stunning, and yummy!
One of my very favorites of them! This is so them. Relaxed and completely comfortable with each other. Beautiful.
Buckle your seatbelts….this is going to be a long one!
I was so excited for this wedding, and it didn’t disappoint! Sundara is absolutely gorgeous!!! I could have stayed for days. It’s southern charm and elegance was the perfect setting for Tess & Addison’s beautiful wedding! From Cheerwine in Mason Jars, to the vintage fans the girls carried, to the Red Velvet cake. I loved it all! Tess was so laid back and relaxed, and Addison was brimming with excitement! I could go on, and on. But for now, I’ll let you enjoy the photos, the many, many photos!
Addison’s gift to Tess was an owl locket. Instead of photos inside, he enclosed these adorable drawings!
Tess was gorgeous!! And I loved the simple elegance of her dress!
These girls knew how to work it!
Hello hot guys!
Tess and her mom, Ginger, did an amazing job on the decorations!!! Truly beautiful!
Ginger also made the cake and all the cupcakes! She was wedding wonderwoman!
Sweet first dance!
He really went for it!
The guests threw lavender as Tess & Addison left. While it smelled wonderful, it didn’t taste so good!!!
Addison’s brother handmade this sign. Perfect!
Thank you Tess & Addison, for putting your faith in me! You’re day was truly amazing and I know your new life together will be blessed!
