When you know it’s right, why wait?! Engaged just a bit over a month ago, Emily & Stephen are working hard to be ready for their May wedding!! I now follow Emily on Pinterest, and I can’t tell you how excited I am for all her plans!!! It was soooo cold for our engagement session, but it was beautiful, and it just meant lots of snuggling! Thanks so much guys for hanging in there! I think it was worth it – I love your photos!!

When Amanda first contacted me and told me of her plans for a New Year’s Eve wedding, I pictured it almost exactly as it turned out!!! Months of planning, searching for the perfect dress, candy, flowers, hankies – all came together for a beautiful and intimate evening wedding! Amanda and Cameron were surrounded by the people they loved and who loved them, and they promised to loved each other forever. It was a great way to send out 2011 with a bang, and I enjoyed every minute of their wedding!!! Thanks guys, for being great!

Jenny & JD are perfect for each other! JD makes Jenny laugh like no other can, and Jenny loves JD fiercely! They were married a few weeks ago in my home church surrounded by bright, bold colors, loving family, and truly funny friends. I was blessed to be a part of their beautiful day!

I believe Jenny came up with this color scheme when she was about 14 years old! It was perfect!

The light was perfect and there was no pressure, so I met JD & Jenny at an old garage on the side of the road for some beautiful photographs to finish their day.

Jenny wrapped her grandmother’s handkerchief around her bouquet. A sweet touch!

Favorite one of the entire day!!! A perfect end to a perfect day!

Kira & Travis | Married

Kira & Travis will have quite the story to tell about their wedding day! Their very personal, beautiful, intimate wedding didn’t go quite as planned. But in the end they were married and it was fun! Here is their story:

When I arrived at the Natural Bridge Hotel where Kira was going about making herself beautiful, it was hot and sunny!

Kira’s little party dress that you’ll see more than you might think!

Seriously cute shoes!

The most amazing bouquet I have ever seen! Kira searched Etsy and found a seller that made her button bouquet. Before I get slammed with emails asking what seller…Kira promised to send me the info as soon as she could!

I caught this image as we rode the shuttle to the Bridge and fell in love with it.

Plans were for a beautiful outdoor ceremony to take place at Natural Bridge. As we walked the path towards the Bridge, we heard the sound of thunder and the sky began to grow dark. Hoping it would pass, we waited for the last few shuttles to arrive.

But, no sooner had we rounded a corner to hide Kira than the skies opened up and the rain began to pour!

We made it to the bridge where everyone huddled together to provide Kira as much shelter as possible. This is the expression never left her face! Amazing!

Once everyone was transported back to the hotel, plans changed and the ceremony was moved inside the reception area. Travis and Kira didn’t care where it happened, as long as they were married! And, because both her long dress and beautiful shoes were wet and uncomfortable, she chose to finish out the day in the shorter, more comfortable dress and her cute boots! It seemed fitting and completely natural.

I love the way they look at each other!

After the ceremony we snuck off for some fun creative portraits. We were even able to catch a ride back down to the bridge!

Aren’t they just adorable!

Kira, thanks for being beautiful.

I loved their idea for a guest “book”! All the guest’s placed their thumbprints, like leaves, on the tree.

These beautiful bird favors were actually wildflowers made to be planted!

Of course I had to play up the button theme!

The cutest cake topper ever!!!

Kira & Travis, thank you for bringing me into your world. Your love is strong and wonderful. I was honored to be a part of something so special.

Beautiful girls, beautiful day! What more could I ask for!!!

Sitting to read a book was a little challenging for a 2 year old! But she did like this part!

Lauren and Ava have the most beautiful eyes!

I always like to grab a good photo of Mom and Dad sans kids! I love this one of Tom & Tonya!

A rare still moment! I must say, Ava really gave me a workout at this session!!! But she and Lauren are so cute, it was worth it!

The Butler Family

The Butler’s were one of the first families we met when we began attending our church. They invited us to attend their Sunday School class and we’ve been there ever since! Their journey to the family they are becoming is truly amazing. After struggling with infertility, their son, and later twin daughters, were all conceived with medical help. Five years later, believing they would never become pregnant on their own, Scott and Kim feel truly blessed to have another little one entering their family. I am blessed to call them friends. We spent the afternoon capturing this miracle we will soon see! Kim is a beautiful woman, inside and out and you can see how happy she is to have baby #4!

I love the dramatic lighting I was able to get during this session!

I can’t decide which one of the next two is my favorite. I love them both!

I think Kim looks gorgeous in this one!

Scott joined Kim for a few. They are so sweet together!

The kids had followed us around laughing and giggling at Mom and Dad, so they were ready to be a part of the action! Story time!

Randomness…

My husband makes the best popcorn. Old fashioned, kettle corn popped in lots of olive oil. It’s yummy!
