The Perfect Spring Day!

Sandwiched in between a week of somewhat warm but cloudy days, and one very frigid Sunday, was a wonderfully warm and beautifully sunny spring day! At first it didn’t appear that it would be so perfect. The morning was actually dismal and a little rainy. When the phone rang, I knew it was Elizabeth and I wholeheartedly agreed that we should reschedule! However, as is normal for spring, the weather changed and became one of the most gorgeous days I have seen in a long time! A quick phone call later and our session was back on and I could not have been happier with the results!

Disclaimer: Normally, I love the majority of my images in b&w. These images are an ode to spring and all it’s vibrant colors!

With the trampoline being a favorite activity, we started there!

Next up was a game of basketball and some playground fun!

I recently discovered what I now deem my “secret” location! This may be my favorite of the day!

Or maybe this one!

Then again, might be this one! I can’t decide!

So much running makes one hungry and the perfect solution is ice cream for dinner!

A Lazy Saturday Morning!

When I arrived at the Dalton’s home all was quiet and calm. A fog had set in and seemed to envelope the entire valley. I was very jealous that this family could still be in their p.j.’s! Tarin really wanted to capture their family doing one of their favorite things, being together. What better way to do that than spending a Saturday morning lounging in bed with the kids! What fun!

Lance really loves animals. So the book of choice was all about animals, of course!

Steve even pulled out his guitar!

I love this picture!

Quiet time was over and playtime had begun!

A bath resulted in wet heads and crazy hair!

Lance showed me the hermit crab he received for Christmas. He was a little unsure of it’s claws!

He has recently learned to play checkers and I must tell you, he is very good! He easily defeated me!

Tess did an amazing job of painting her own fingernails! She was very focused on staying in the lines! I love the curled fingers!!!

Mommy making her beautiful!

Thank you Steve and Tarin for allowing me into your home to capture your beautiful family! I had an amazing time and will see you again soon!

The Copening Family!

This morning about 10:25, I hopped in the car and headed out for a family session. Exactly 3 minutes later I arrived at the Copenings! I love it when my commute is short! Brian and Jennifer have lived down the road from us for a while now, but we had no clue until we took the kids out to trick-or-treat on Halloween and stumbled upon them! How nice it is to have friends in the neighborhood!

We had planned for me to arrive while Evan was still sleeping and it gave me the chance to spend some time with Emma! She is truly a little princess! Look how gorgeous she is!

Emma and Mommy spent some time reading on the bed!

Who can resist a princess story!

She is a natural in front of the camera! So sweet!

Evan soon woke up! I think he wanted to play too!

copening-128.jpg

We headed downstairs for some family time on the couch.

Look at this face!

copening-142.jpg

I love the look of mischief on his face as he heads toward my camera!

(I can’t believe I spelled -mischief- right on my first try!!!)

Lunch was next on the agenda!

Emma made her own sandwich and then enjoyed every bite!

copening-151.jpg

Evan enjoyed his as well!

Outside, Emma showed me the strawberries she and Daddy are growing.

Back inside Evan finished his bottle and snuggled with Mommy!

Thank you so much Jennifer and Brian, for letting me spend the morning with your family! They are so very sweet! I will see you soon!
