Sweet Baby Cate, round 2!

Yesterday I was excited to spend some time with my little niece Cate and my brother /sister-in-law Curtis and Cory! Cate is such a doll and I adore her! What’s really funny is that she even looks somewhat like my kids! You can definitely tell they are related!

Cate was a little cranky for our session. Her normal 2 hour nap in the morning was only 30 min! Poor thing! Even being tired, she did great and totally modeled for the camera!

I love watching new parents with their baby! Everything is new and exciting! I miss that! Curtis and Cory are amazing with Cate. They are so in love with her! She is very blessed to have them as her parents!

Much love guys! Enjoy your slideshow!

Here are a few of my favorites!

Seniors are awesome!

So maybe they aren’t seniors yet, but they are well on their way! I had a great time hanging out with Alison, Wes and Kayla on a very windy Saturday! They were troopers, braving the wind and the cold and the hunger! We played around downtown Salem for a couple of hours and even wandered onto Roanoke College campus! Being a model is hard work and causes one to become extremely hungry! To remedy this, we hit up Macado’s for some great barbecue! (Thanks for the suggestion Alison, it was wonderful!)

These beautiful young people are my new Senior reps for the Salem area! If you know one of them and like what you see here, make sure you grab one of their cards! They earn free stuff for clients they send my way and you can get a free sheet of wallets when you present their card! (Only one card per client please!!)

If you are an up and coming Senior at any school other than Salem, you could be a rep at your school! Senior reps get a discount on their session, cool stuff for referrals, and really neat cards to hand out! I am looking for kids who are fun, outgoing and ready to take some awesome images! I only take a limited amount of reps per school so jump on it! Shoot me an email at lori@lorihedrickphotography.com!

In the meantime, here are the images

and the slideshow!

I am so excited to announce the launch of my new blog!!! The new template really blends with my branding and allows me to showcase some wonderfully large images! Because many of you like to go back and look at previous entries, I imported all the old posts. All the link work as well as the slideshows so click away! I’m very pleased with this next step in my business and many thanks to all who support me with their love and prayers! A big thanks to Jared for designing and installing the template! He’s been great to work with! To kick it off, I’m posting 2 of my most favorite images from last year! These are amazing.

All together for the holidays!

I come from a “somewhat” large family!  I say somewhat because I have six and *that’s* large!!!  I am the oldest of 4.  You can scroll down to see all of my family!  Out of all my siblings, so far I’m the only one married with kids!  (Sometimes I envy my sisters single life!!!)

Just after Christmas (yes Christmas, I’m getting caught up!) , I had the chance to see the future for my family!  Ms. Hendrickson contacted me to say that all of 4 children as well as her 8 grand-kids were going to be in town for the holiday.  Since this was such a momentous occasion, I knew I had to document this family!  It was so much fun!!!  Despite being a little chilly, the kids did great and the parents enjoyed themselves as well!

Look how beautiful these kids are!

We did each small family unit….

…. and then the whole gang!

The wise leaders of the clan!!!

We headed over to Roanoke College campus for a different setting.  The kids did great!  You would never know they were being bribed with M&M’s!!!

Fun grown-up picture!

We played on the campus for a little while and then tried for a picture of Grandma with all her kiddos!  I am convinced they decided to wage a war against us!  They were cold and tired and hungry and were not going to sit for anything, not even M&M’s this time!!!!  We are missing one because there was a mishap and we did have a case of the bloody lip!  This image makes me laugh because if all the chaos surrounding it!

Since kids were just done we decided to head back to Grandma’s for snacks and book reading!

After a good book, it was time for a good movie.  “Peter Pan” to be exact!  Obviously it was enthralling!  Check out the slideshow for the cool popcorn containers as well as many other images from the session!

Thank you Jennifer and all your family for allowing me to capture this window into your life!  I know your time together is precious and that you will always treasure these memories!  Many blessings!

Virginia Women’s Show

*** I apparently wrote this post sometime last week and then forgot to put it up!  Sometimes I don’t know where my brain is!***

This past weekend I was excited to participate in the Virginia Women’s Show!  It meant a lot of preparation in a very short amount of time, but with the help of my wonderful friend Lisa, we pulled it off.  In the rush and chaos, I completely forgot the camera!!!  I am kicking myself!  I wanted to share my booth but also wanted to document the process so I would know what to change or keep the same the next time!  Oh well!

It was a great day with lots of women and lots of things that interest women!  With around 4,000 women over the course of the day, we were busy!  Lisa and I looked at our watches about 2:30 and were amazed that the day had just flown by!

I am excited to say that I have a winner for the free album contest!  I mixed up the bowl good and then had my husband draw the name!  I can’t announce it yet as I must get in touch with them first, but when I do, I’ll make another post!  I can’t wait to do the session and then design the album!  I love doing albums!  I need to get some pictures of the albums I have done up here for all to see!  They are really amazing and a very different way to display your pictures!

That’s all for now, keep looking back for a wonderful session from just after Christmas with a family that came together over the holidays for the first time in over 10 years!  It was a joy!

Blessings!
